What is the bread bag made of?
Our bread bag is made from 100% natural cotton fabric coated with pure beeswax. This combination creates a breathable yet protective layer that keeps your bread fresh — without any plastic or synthetic materials.
Is the beeswax coating food-safe?
Absolutely. Beeswax is a completely natural substance that has been used in food storage for centuries. It is non-toxic, food-safe, and free from any harmful chemicals.
Will my bread actually stay fresh longer?
Yes! Most customers report bread staying fresh for 5–7 days, compared to 1–2 days with plastic or linen bags. The natural beeswax lining creates a breathable barrier that keeps your bread soft inside and crisp outside.
What makes Maesha Bread Bags different from cheap alternatives?
Most "beeswax" bags use polyester blends or plastic coatings that actually trap moisture and soften your crust. Maesha is 100% pure cotton with a genuine natural beeswax lining — breathable, natural, no shortcut
Will my bread taste or smell like beeswax?
No. There's a subtle natural scent at first, but it fades quickly and doesn't transfer to your bread. Your sourdough will taste like sourdough.
How large are the bags? Will my big loaf fit?
Each bag measures 13" x 17" (33 x 43 cm) — big enough for large sourdough boules, Dutch oven loaves, or bakery bread. It closes securely with a clip to keep everything fresh. And unlike a bread box, it takes up no counter space so you can just store it in a drawer or hang it up!
Care & Maintenance
Can I put it in the freezer?
Yes! The bag is freezer safe, making it perfect for batch baking. Freeze your loaves directly in the bag, then let them thaw at room temperature — the beeswax lining protects the bread just as well from the cold.
How do I clean it?
While you can just put it in the washing machine, it is better to simply wipe with a damp cloth or rinse in cool water with mild soap, then air dry. Takes about 30 seconds.
